Forest Bathing

From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Forest bathing is a mindfulness practice involving an immersion of the 
senses into our natural environment. Join us as we slow down and tune
 into the smells, textures and sights of the Sanctuary. 
Pay what you feel (suggested donation is $3/person) Everyone welcome.

Edible Plant Walks

Join an Interpreter for a walk in the Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary
to identify and talk about our wild edibles.

Bat Talk & Walk
Saturday, July 28 from 8:45 to 11:00 p.m. &
Friday, August 10 from 8:15 to 10:30 p.m.
Corey Olson, M.Sc., P.Biol., Coordinator of the Alberta Community Bat Program, 
will be giving a presentation on basic bat biology and the bats of Alberta. 
A nighttime walk with bat detectors will follow the talk.

Herbal Plant Walk
Tuesday, August 7
From 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Join an herbalist for this introduction to herbs, their uses 
and what you can find right in your backyard.

All camps run 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily, unless otherwise stated. 
Ages 6 to 12 years. $150/child/camp. Before and after care available for a small fee.

Are you ready for a challenge? Join us for a week long amazing race inspired experience. Participate in hiking, geocaching, and outdoor activities.

CSI - WILDLIFE EDITION
July 23 – July 27
At the Kerry Wood Nature Centre
Kerry Wood Nature Centre needs your help! There has been a crime at the sanctuary.
Shh… it’s top secret! We are looking for a team of crime scene investigators
to gather evidence and solve the crime. Dusting for fingerprints, identifying tracks,
and interviewing suspects are just a few of the activities we will be doing throughout the week.
Together we can crack this case.

LOST ARTIFACT
July 30 – August 3
At Historic Fort Normandeau
Calling all future archaeologists. One of Fort Normendeau’s most beloved artifacts
has gone missing and we need your help! Follow the maps and defeat the traps
in this week long adventure. Digging for fossils, creating maps, and surviving nature
are just a few of the activities required to save the day.
Pack up your fedora, bullwhip, and boots and let’s work together
to complete the quest of a lifetime.


ECO – ADVENTURES: B-RING IT 
August 13 – August 17
At the Kerry Wood Nature Centre
Push it to the limit! Come hydrated and well rested because the week will be full of fun
and highly active outdoor activities. Many memories will be made
through “out of camp” experiences, like hiking and rafting down the river.
This camp is best suited for those seeking physical challenges. 


DOWN AND DIRTY
August 20 – August 24
At the Kerry Wood Nature Centre
Finally! A mess your SUPPOSE to make! Come to Kerry Wood Nature Centre’s
Down and Dirty Day Camp for a week of messy good times. Get your hands dirty
while hiking, bug hunting, and exploring the great outdoors. This week long adventure
also includes slime, salamanders, and scavenger hunts.
Your mission is to get dirty and have fun!

Our biggest party of the summer is back! Have a blast in the past as we celebrate life as it was at the Crossing, circa 1885.
Admission of $3/person, $10/family of five, or $15/carload of 6+ people.

History & Lacrosse
Every other Saturday starting June 2
From 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Come and learn about the history of Lacrosse and see some of the equipment used to play. Learn how a lacrosse stick can be made!

Family Yoga
Every other Sunday starting June 3 
From 1:00 to 1:45 & 3:00 to 3:45 p.m.
Feel like a kid again while connecting with your children 
on a deeper level. Our certified yoga instructor tailors classes 
towards families with children 12 and under.

Intro To Archery
Every Monday evening starting June 4
From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Come and discover a new hobby, try out archery with our experienced staff!

Join an interpreter and learn how to make delicious bannock over a camp fire!

Adult Yoga

Find your fun, challenge your inner self, and melt into the relaxing
 ambience with our certified yoga instructor’s flow classes.

Intro To Survival
Every other Saturday starting June 9 
From 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Come join our experienced staff and learn the basics of fire starting, 
shelter making, and other essentials of survival. 
Each session will focus on a different aspect of survival.

Gold Panning
Every other Sunday starting June 24
From 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Ever had gold fever? You will after this! Bring your family and try your hand at gold panning. We’ll provide the pans and instructions, you just bring some clothes that can get wet.

Beginner Cross Stich
Every other Tuesday starting June 12
From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Learn how to cross stitch with our interpreter Ainsley. 
Try new techniques and take home a small project.

Jam Session
Wednesday evenings. July 18 & August 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Join us for a casual jam session, all experience levels welcome. Bring your own instrument or voice.

All proceeds towards providing nature-based experiences for Central Alberta children.
Cocktails from 8:00 - 8:30 pm.
Followed by supper, live music, astronomy talk,
and the best views of the Perseid Meteor Shower.
$75/ticket, available at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre.
Ticket price includes one drink, cash bar to follow.
